Girl + Wednesday sketching

been neglecting scanning in the sketches.. but I have been doing them.. in fact.. i have a whole bunch from costco from last sunday.. but I've been into the painting.. and trying to figure out a good way to ink digitally that I haven't bothered with getting the sketches in.. anyway.. here's the usual wednesday batch.. wednesday is after all sketching day.

Plus.. a girl painting experiment.. tried stealing colours from another picture..

been having a problem with the lines..

at first i tried up res'ing the whole thing.. and then scaling back down.. but now I'm finding I have to redraw certain lines over and over again.. to get the right line.. that seemed to work better this time...

still isn't perfect.. but getting closer to what I want...

*updated* now with sleepy eyes.. haha...

Wednesday- sketching day!!

sketches of ppl... + some Fred Moore studies... he did some really fantastic drawings.

tonight's entry

was going to do something with value again tonight.. and I did.. just somewhere along the line it turned back to colour.. i discovered that I like drawing "more" in photoshop when it's at a really high resolution.. say.. 3200 x 2400.. not sure why.. the line feels like it's doing more what I want it to do.. maybe all the little hand twitches and vibrations aren't as visible at this resolution??

value compositions

well.. here goes.. wanted to do some more compositional stuff.. read about making images with 4 values...

I'm no expert at it... so I thought I would give it a try.. the bottom two images shows.. what i started with, before going into any kind of rendering.. just in case anyone is interested..

tried applying some marker to the drawings.... neat effect.. however.. I don't like that it bleeds through the page.. maybe this means I can only draw on one side of the page if I do this technique.... other page was tim hortons as well..along with some compositional studies...
