When I do ink gesture I use printer paper or cardstock paper. It scans greater than sketch pad paper. :)

i think i would do that too.. but i find taking loose paper out on the street is hard to keep track of.. and hard to remain inconspicuous when drawing on location.. a small sketchbook is good.

Yeah a cheap 8 by 11 sketch pad. is what i use sometimes but the scans suck. The more expensive sketchbook paper is basically thin carstock paper in book for and jacked up price.
You could always get a whole puncher and a small binder and make your own book. :) I done that on road trips and it is great.

recently been using ballpoint pen on newsprint. works great, even better than on regular paper.
